Nursery Care

A nursery is available for children aged four and under. It is open on Sundays from 9:20 until worship is over.

Children's Sunday School -- 9:30 a.m.

Led by Connie Bloor and Becky Paavola, Sunday School is a celebration of the love of God in our lives. Children explore the scriptures through reading, drama, arts & crafts, and prayer. Young people come to know themselves as beloved children of God.

Children's Choir -- Meets 9:30 a.m. on Sundays.

At the start of each Sunday school session, Maynard's Minister of Music, Bryan Babcock, leads the children in song. The children sing in worship every six to eight weeks.

Youth Group

Who are we?

Ours is an open and active group of junior and senior high school students, welcoming believers, seekers, doubters and those who just want to have fun.

We invite you to come, bring a friend and grow with us. Come for the fellowship, stay for the journey.

What are we about?

Our goal is to encourage, strengthen, and meet each others' needs...equipping each other to passionately strive to be more like Christ through studying the Bible and spending time together in prayer and worship... to reach out as a shining light to others in our own communities and beyond through service and evangelism... and to have fun in the process.

How do we do it?

Fellowship: Youth group meets two times a month on Saturdays from 6pm to 8pm at the church. We learn about our faith in God through games, activities, and discussions. They are always fun. There is always FOOD!

Summer Mission Trips

2002: Rand, Va.
2003: Atlanta, Ga. Working on people's homes/working with elderly or youth in the community/major yard cleanup. On the way home from Georgia, we celebrated our mission efforts with a stop at the ocean.
2004: to be determined

Local Mission

Supplying bread to a homeless shelter
Setting up and delivering Thanksgiving food boxes
Collecting blankets for the homeless
Volunteering at the Methodist Free Store
Christmas caroling to shut-ins
Assisting the elderly with yardwork
Christmas goodies in tins with handwritten notes of support to some of our church family

Summer Youth Program

Summer Youth Program has been an eight-week, four hours-per-day experience for children 5-12. SYP includes Bible stories and songs, games and recreation, academic tutoring, and arts and crafts. For 2004 the hope is to offer an all-day program for up to forty children. From 8:15 am to 3:30 pm (latchkey available until 6:00).

Summer Youth Program is for elementary age children. Activities include Bible school, tutoring, field trips, computer lab and the arts. Cost is only $50 per week. Scholarships available. Contact the church office for an application form.

Arts & Eats

Approximately four times a year, Maynard offers special children's events from 6:00 to 8:30 on Friday evenings. Attended by 50 to 80 children, Arts & Eats focuses on building relationships and community. Parents may stay or enjoy an evening on their own! Check the calendar for the next event.
